RULE: 2.20: RATING SHIPMENTS REQUIRING MULTIPLE BILL OF LADINGS & ISSUING MULTIPLE BILLS OF LADINGS FOR ONE CONTAINER

Rating Shipments Requiring Multiple Bill of Ladings:  
 
Except as otherwise provided, a shipment moving from one Shipper at one point of origin at one time for delivery to one Consignee at one point of destination at one time loaded in a single trailer, but moving on two or more Bills of Lading, will be rated, for the purpose of applying charges, on the same basis as if it were moving under a single Bill of Lading and the charges prorated to the individual Bills of Lading based on weight or measure contained on each Bill of Lading, subject to Rule 6 "Minimum Bill of Lading Charges" for  each.  On shipments subject to lump-sum rates the charges will be distributed over the multiple Bills of Lading.   
 
Issuing Multiple Bills of Lading for One Container:  
 
When a Shipper requests exclusive use and more than one Bill of Lading is issued to cover the contents of a single container, such Bills of Lading shall be numbered in sequence as one of the total number of Bills of Lading which together shall cover the total contents of said container and each Bill of Lading shall apply the following statement: "This instrument is one of a series of...each covering a part of the cost of the above identified container; all...instruments to be surrendered in order to obtain delivery of said container; container for all purposes constituting on  package; limitation of Carrier's liability as provided on reverse hereof and agreed to by Shipper  applies to the entire contents of said containers as one package."
